We released our 2018 Kitchen Trends article in late 2017 and our trend-spotters really hit the nail on the head with their predictions. Here are a few latter half follow-ups in kitchen cabinet trends for 2018.
COLOUR
In a world of white kitchens, colour is making a comeback for mid-2018. Dark Blue and Green MDF cabinets are starting to trend in the homes of today.
FIVE PIECE MDF DOORS
For years, one-piece MDF doors dominated the market, but Five-Piece MDF doors are making huge gains in popularity in Western-Canadian kitchens in 2018. If you are curious, read more about the advantages of five-piece MDF doors.
MAXIMALISM
Also known as romantic eclectic, maximalism is slowly overtaking the simple and clean mid-century modern craze in interior design. If you love bold colours, sophisticated wallpapers and drama don’t overlook this trend.
DEEP CABINET DRAWERS
An increased number of drawers, as well as deep drawers, are a top trend for 2018 kitchens. Deep cabinet drawers are more accessible and make the space more ergonomic. They are great for storing Tupperware, pots and pans and even plates and bowls.
FUNKY GEOMETRIC TILE
There is no better way to dress up a kitchen than with a funky geometric wall tile. For many homeowners, geometric patterns are very pleasing to the eye. That pop of colour really creates that perfect focal point in the space.
