Company’s Coming Butter Tarts Recipe


Have you started your Holiday baking?  I wanted to share my favourite Butter Tarts recipe which has obtained somewhat of a legendary status here at Superior Cabinets.  This is another amazing recipe from Company’s Coming that I discovered several years back.

1/3 cup raisins – more or less to suit your taste

12 tart shells

1 egg

½ cup brown sugar packed

3 tbsp margarine.

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 375 deg.  Place unbaked tart shells on a cookie sheet, add several raisins to each shell.  Combine remaining ingredients. Fill tart shells with mixture over the raisins to about ¾ full, or until raisins are covered.  Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.  I find with this recipe that 10-12 minutes is usually enough time, but each oven is different.  I have doubled and tripled this recipe many times with excellent results.
