The Superior Cabinets manufacturing team recently helped out the Parkland County Fire Department with the fabrication of a unique dolls house… Yes, doll houses, but these aren’t your typical playtime toys. These doll houses play a critical role and are used for training purposes. They are constructed out of MDF and then lit on fire which helps the firefighters in various aspects of fire behavior and ventilation.
The Superior Cabinets team had a great time working on this special project and was grateful to contribute to this important initiative. “We are very grateful for the donation of these cabinets,” says Trevor Sutherley, Deputy Fire Chief of the Parkland County Fire Department.
This video displays the doll’s house being used as a training tool designed to show recruit firefighters about fire and smoke behavior, pyrolysis, flash over of the fire and gas cooling techniques in fighting a structural fire.
