#GarryTalks – NKBA Prairie Provinces Chapter – Collaborative Partnerships and Supply Chain Management

Around Superior

On May 1st, 2014 the Superior Cabinets Edmonton Store held an NKBA Prairie Provinces Chapter Event in the Edmonton Showroom with guest speaker Garry Wood of Superior Cabinets.  Garry Wood is Superior’s Vice President and General Manager of our Northern Alberta Operations. He also holds the role of General Manager, Edmonton Sales and Distribution Center.  Garry has a strong background in Global Supply Chain.  Prior to joining Superior, he was Director of Global Procurement for a large international manufacturer of heavy equipment, and he worked extensively in Asia. Garry’s fundamental business philosophy is simple—to provide the customer with exactly the product they want, at the price they want to pay, and deliver it exactly when they want it.

Supply chain management has been defined as:

– The design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand and measuring performance globally. – The management of upstream and downstream value-added flows of materials, final goods, and related information among suppliers, company, re-sellers, and final consumers.

The essence of collaborative partnership is for all parties to mutually benefit from working together.  To learn how the importance of sharing resources, such as finances, knowledge, and people can benefit your business, your relationships, and your brand. The evening drew about 25 people from the Edmonton and Calgary Area Kitchen and Bath Industry.  Attendees raved about Garry’s presentation and everyone left with some knowledge to help strengthen their businesses.

“Thank you for the wonderful evening.  Who knew that Supply Chain and Strategic Partnerships could be so interesting.” Tammy MacKay, Principal and Owner of Design Eye

“Everything is related and everything matters, no matter how small or large your business. Garry made an excellent case for really looking at your business relationships and championing the cause of continual communication. Even the seemingly small details can have far reaching effects. Know your suppliers in which to better know yourself. We are all pieces of the bigger puzzle that is Commerce.”  – Lisa Hrabec – VP Programs NKBA Prairie Provinces Chapter Click here if you would like to read more here about Garry’s Talk on Collaborative Partnerships and Supply Chain Management.

Superior Cabinets sends a big thank you to everyone that came out to our presentation on “Collaborative Partnerships and Supply Chain Management” for the NKBA Prairie Provinces Chapter.
